Facebook Connect: Unable to autoconfigure your application settings, make sure you are logged into Facebook

I started tinkering around with the Facebook Developer's API and the Facebook Connect module a couple of days ago and immediately ran into a problem. I was getting the following error message when I tried to save the module configuration settings: "Unable to autoconfigure your application settings, make sure you are logged into Facebook".
I tried downloading a fresh copy of the facebook-client files from Facebook, reinstalling the module, etc, nothing worked to clear the error. So finally I tried configuring my fb app by hand.
I found that setting the connect URL and base domain manually on the connect tab cleared the error message, after which the module appears to work flawlessly. I don't know if Facebook made some change to it's API that isn't accounted for in the 6.x-1.0-beta8 release of the Facebook Connect module or what, but configuring your FB app by hand appears to resolve any issues.
